This article especially for those who have nice traffic but do not have good earning based on it. And this might be due to bad Google AdSense Ad Placement.
In this article, I’m going to explain best AdSense Ad Placement Tips by which you can able to increase your AdSense CTR, CPC, and RPM.
The tips I’m going to tell you are not the only assumption, but these are also tested by myself for a long time.

I have met so many Indian bloggers who always complain about low CPC and RPM problem. They always get CPC 0.02 to 0.05$ only but this usually happens with me when I was a newbie.
as you can see in the above screenshots, I’m getting 0.10$ CPC and 15.32$ RPM.
15.32$ RPM means I’m getting 15.32$/1000 page views. This is mix RPM, I mean I’m getting traffic from many countries, Below is the of Indian traffic.
See, I’m getting 14.33$ RPM from Indian traffic. Many people even don’t get closer to this via USA traffic.
Now you can clearly see, How much CPC and RPM I’m getting. This is all my personal experience. There are only two things that affect this,
- Ads Placement.
After getting approval from AdSense, people start putting ads on the blog here and there without thinking about its best placement.
Either they put so many ads on the blog Or many use Auto ads, which increase the impressions but decrease the CTR rate.
Before adding Ads coding in your blog, you must understand and read the AdSense Program policies and then try to implement the ads placement to get the best results.
If you want to be an AdSense Expert then you have to understand AdSense deeply and understand all the below points to get best of best.
- Ads Location
- Ad Type
- Ads Size
- And Color
Okay, Let me explain you little in details.
Every location on the blog is not good to show ads, sometimes Users gets irritated by them or sometime you will get not expected CPC and RPM.
It’s not necessary that the position of the ad I’m using also beneficial to you also.
Still, there are some Position which can be beneficial for you, for example,
- Above the Post
- Site Header
- Bottom of the Post. (After Content)
- Between the post or after 2-3 paragraphs.
- Sidebar (Good for PC)
These ads positions are used by bloggers and even use by me also and with my personal experience, I’m getting very good results with it.
If you have higher traffic from mobile, then there is no need to put an ad in the sidebar, that will be showing in the last in mobile.
But, you can try some experiments in ads placement to get the best results.

Before some time ago, there were three types of Ads unit was available, Which are
- Text & display ads
- Display ads only
- Text ad only
But, After Recent Google AdSense Update, there were many changes done by Google in the Ads type. Now you can see many ads type like,
- Display Ads
- In-Feed Ads
- In-Articles Ads
Now you have to make sure, which ad performs better for you.
3. Ad Size
Google Provide multiple types of Ads size in the AdSense, Like
- Responsive (Best & Recommended)
- Horizontal banner
- Vertical banner
- Custom size
- Links Ads (Not available in most of the AdSense)
So, You can choose Ad size according to your content, theme and users interest.
By the way, Responsive Ads are the most popular and used ads unit to generate great revenue.
4. Ads Format
Many bloggers get confused between Ad format and ad type. There are several types of Ads formats available in the AdSense which are,
- Banner ads: This can be used as a wide horizontal banner ad which can be ideally placed on the top or bottom of your blog pages and posts.
- Interstitial ads: Interstitial ads are full-screen ads that cover the entire display screen of a user to make ads more interactive.
- Rewarded ads: It’s a kind of video ads with playable ads and for the survey.
- Native ads: These are those ads which matched with your content.
Sometimes AdSense publisher does not customize the ad color according to its theme and content or sometimes over customize the ad color by which people, not able to recon the difference between content and Ads. Which result in an Invalid click.
Make sure your website color and Ads color has a little difference to down the in Invalid click and attract users toward your website.
